Google doesn't use to postpone events, not when million of users are dying to see the latest features about Android, but it has to do it. The company has confirmed that will put off the event to an undetermined point in the future due to Hurricane Sandy, expected to arrive on East coast. There was another moment in time, when Google delayed its special event, the release of Galaxy Nexus, as a sign of respect for Steve Jobs.

Google's event in New York City was widely expected to see the new LG Nexus 4 debut, as well as a Samsung-made Nexus 10 tablet, but has been cancelled at the last minute for safety reasons.
The hurricane is expected to reach New York City starting with Sunday evening, with the threat of flooding and wind damage. For Google, it’s an inconvenient moment on its calendar: Apple’s iPad mini was released last week, while Microsoft has just held a Windows Phone 8 launch event.
